PeTA KILLS!

Please - Spay/Neuter!

Each day 10,000 humans are born in the US - and each day 70,000 puppies and kittens are born. As long as these birth rates exist, there will never be enough homes for all the animals. As a result, every year 4 to 6 million animals are euthanized because there are no homes for them.

Nia

Nia is Sibby’s puppy (born Nov. 07, female, daddy is Chase). We just gave her to my mom - mom had CJ but she was too rambunctious and destroyed her pillow, 3 shirts, 2 sets of crocs (new!), a table leg, and has eaten at least 18 meals of mom’s that were on a plate on the table, desk, or kitchen counter, so she gave her back and took Nia, who is a little angel! lol!) I miss Nia a lot, though! :(

Cashleigh

What a sweet baby girl!

This is one of Schtick’s little girls (first litter, female, born Nov. 07 - one day before Sibby’s litter - daddy is Chase) - and for a pup, she’s pretty well behaved! (Though she does have an affinity for peeing and occasionally plopping a big smelly one on the living room rug…)

Daddy thinks she’s such a sweet little cuddlebug and we love to watch her play!

Likes:

  • woobies
  • snuggling
  • playing with Sibby, Schtick & Jilly Bean (really anybody that’ll play with her!)
  • sleeping on the bad or the papasan chair (or Sibby’s bed, or the couch…)
  • LOVES peanut butter

Dislikes

  • not much!

Special characteristics, tricks & traits:

  • barking at herself in the mirror
  • getting in the dry bathtub (just like her momma Schtick)
  • she’s very vocal - just like her momma Schtick - she whines when she plays with her toys and she barks at EVERYTHING and she makes the funniest noises when she’s playing rough!

I’m so glad we have Cashleigh in our lives - what a precious little baby!!

Berkeley

Berkeley

091706-canvas-look.jpg

Full name: Berkeley Reagan Scout (aka Berkeley’s My Golden California Sunshine)

She was born August 4th, 2000 and is a full-blooded (blonde) golden retriever.

She’s the mother of many of our furbabies:

  • Sibby
  • TyGirl (Schtick)
  • Nikki
  • Jenna Bean
  • Libby
  • Nate
  • Tequila
  • Killian
  • Chaser (Cheese)
  • (and the ones that we found homes for, like Mikey, Mattie, Martini, Bailey, Liam and others, as well as Criss who passed away, and Coleson Ty who ran away)

Berkeley is a crazy dog! She’s a bit on the neurotic side and I swear she needs to be on Prozac or something! But she’s SUPER loving and very affectionate and loyal.

Likes:

  • to shred and de-stuff woobies, especially soft ones with squeakers
  • to ride in the car (anywhere - even the vet!)
  • to play hide and seek (how does she always find me?)
  • swimming and getting in the shower with me
  • playing tug-of-war
  • to pose with children in our photography sessions
  • to sleep in her crate
  • meeting new people (especially females - she LOVES attention!)
  • likes to cuddle
  • loves to kiss
  • to be brushed
  • to get on the bed when Da’s not looking
  • to lick frogs

Dislikes:

  • licking frogs (now that she found out that some make her mouth foam!)
  • male strangers, people with hats and unfamiliar female dogs
  • getting fussed at
  • moving when she’s comfortable
  • having her photo taken by a noisy camera with a bright flash
  • taking pills
  • other dogs bothering her (especially little puppies)

Special Characteristics, Talents & Tricks:

  • she has the funniest set of front teeth on her bottom row - they are all crooked - sometimes we call her Snaggle Tooth
  • if I have a woobie in a shopping bag, even if it’s nestled among tons of other bags full of food or other fuzzy things like slippers of something, she will find that woobie - and run off with it before I have a chance to even notice it’s missing!
  • she’s very smart and was easy to housebreak, clicker and crate train
  • was the most expensive dog we’ve ever purchased (but man, what an investment!)
  • super sweet and loving
  • good watch dog
  • she ’swims’ on the floor (rolls on her back and wiggles back & forth and flails her front paws like she’s swimming - so cute!!)
  • she loves to catch things with her front paws

Berkeley is just a sweet, lovable ole girl!

Schtick (aka TyGirl)

04 5th, 2008 Author: Michele

Schtick

ty2.jpg

Born on July 4th (from Berkeley and Tyson) - and named TyGirl after her daddy. When Tyson passed away 2 weeks before this litter was born, I was crushed. I kept praying and hoping that one of the litter would come out not only looking like Tyson, but with some of his personality traits. Then one night, a few days before she was born, I had a dream that I was holding and loving on a little black female puppy that looked just like Tyson - same white on her chin and chest and tummy - same color and feel of her hair, same size and body frame - and I had named her TyGirl.

Two days later, around 9 am, Berkeley gave birth to her first puppy - on my bed, right by my head (while I was still asleep) - and guess who it was? TyGirl! And she’s been my little sweetheart ever since!

Why do I call her Schtick? Well, for some reason, somewhere along the way, we thought she reminded us of a stick - she’s so skinny and light! We just started calling her Stick, and sooner or later we moved on to Schtick, and that schtuck! ;) And she knows all her nicknames, so it doesn’t really matter what we call her - she’ll come running, ready for love!

Likes:

  • Mud puddles - she LOVES digging and playing in mud puddles - of any size. She’s our little Schtick in the Mud (or Mud Bug).
  • water - pools, bathtubs, showers, puddles, faucets, hoses, ponds, creeks, rain - you name it.
  • any toy that makes noises and moves, shakes or bounces on its own
  • bananas and peanut butter (and people food of all kinds)
  • to be petted and rubbed
  • to give ‘four paws’
  • to play ‘Save Momma from the Cover Monster’ - except she DIGS on top of the cover to get to me. She has shredded many a sheet and blanket and often times my face or back, trying to get to me!
  • watch and listen to dogs on tv
  • loves to run (outrun) and be chased by Sibby and Nikki (she can run SO fast - like lightning)
  • to lay her head on my chest
  • to chew on empty Beneful containers
  • to play outside and get filthy

Dislikes:

  • thunder (have to drug her - Sibby & Nikki are the same way!)
  • getting fused at
  • having Momma leave her sight for more than 5 minutes
  • when a other dog tries to come near me when she’s loving on me
  • loud noises

Special Characteristics, Tricks or Traits:

  • growls and cuts her eyes at any other dog (except Sibby) that comes near her when she’s getting attention
  • curls up in a ball and rests her head on the middle of her back - like a cat - I swear she has no bones!
  • noisily chases her tail - round and round and round…
  • groans, sighs deeply, mumbles or whines when she stretches, while she sleeps or when she’s trying to get comfortable (she is SO vocal!)
  • nips our nose, lip, butts (and sometimes other very sensitive parts) when she gets excited (all in love, of course!)
  • paws and bats at us like a cat does to a hanging ball of yarn
  • hops in the bathtub and scratches in it to ‘make it more comfy’ then lays down in it or just sits there (so weird!)

She is the mother of:

  • Lil’ Hugs
  • Lisie
  • Cashleigh

She really is a special dog - TONS of personality and so sweet and funny! I love her SO much!

Sibby

SIBBY

sib-3.jpg

I know that as parents of furbabies, you’re not supposed to have “favorites”. But if you have more than one dog, then you understand it’s normal to feel a stronger bond or connection with one particular dog. Ours is Sibby.

Originally named Sibien (though she goes by many nicknames, like Chibber and Bikit) and chosen by Da (Damien aka Daddy) to be his little baby almost from the minute she was born (he loved how different she looked from all the others in the litter), Sibby was destined to be the queen of the house.

She was born on the July 4th, 2005 and her mother is Berkeley (a full-blooded golden - she is our mascot on the front page), and her daddy is Tyson Cole (a field spaniel mix who passed away 2 weeks before she was born - see his bio in the Memory Lane section).

What’s so special about Sibby? It would probably be easier to tell you what’s not! Which is nothing!

Likes:

  • cuddling up next to us and falling asleep breathing in our ears
  • catching frisbees, woobies or balls in the air (and doing flips when they are high enough)
  • balls that make sounds and have flashing lights, or squeak, and that bounce high
  • Beneful real food dinners, lettuce, yogurt and almost all people food
  • to play rough
  • loves to play ‘find momma and save her from the Cover Monster’ (where I hide under a blanket and Da says “Bikit - save Momma from the Cover Monster” - and she goes crazy trying to get to me under the cover. And then when she ‘finds’ me, I happily say “YAY! Bikit saved Momma from the Cover Monster! Thank you, Bikit!!” It sounds weird but she LOVES this game!)
  • giving “four paws” - another game where we are sitting down and we say ‘four Paws’ and she runs and jumps up on all fours on our lap!
  • any toys with a sound chip, like Willie the Snake, or with stuffing that she can pull out
  • to crinkle and chew on empty plastic water bottles
  • running and chasing Schtick and Nikki in the yard
  • digging for things in the dirt

Dislikes:

  • BATHS or water of any kind
  • riding in a car
  • being locked in a crate or a room
  • being fussed at or even getting a ’stern’ look
  • upsetting us in any way

Special characteristics, tricks or traits:

  • she is VERY intelligent, smart and clever
  • amazing and unique color
  • very human facial expressions and personality traits
  • she has these crinkles or folds of skin on the underside of her muzzle, on the edge of her lips, and it’s so endearing!
  • when she gets her muzzle wet, she has this funny black mustache that appears and it reminds me of Charlie Chapman!
  • the white fur on her butt always makes us think she’s wearing white shorts
  • she’s sensitive. You can’t fuss at her or she gives you this heartbroken look - squinty eyes, ears back, head and shoulders slumped - it’s awful! But she’s always so well-behaved that she rarely ever gets corrected!

Mother of:

  • Nia
  • Cow
  • Mikeylah

But all in all, Sibby is just our soul dog, the one that makes us smile at her antics, melt from her kisses, and often tear up at just the sight of her sleeping. She’s everything you could want in a dog, and we treasure every second we are given with her. She’s the light of our life and our connection to everything pure and perfect. Sappy, I know - but those of you who have (or have had) a dog like her, you know what I mean.
